Tom Pouce
There's little doubt in my mind that this particular variety was developed by a Dutchman. You see, the name 'Tom Pouce' is also the name of a Dutch pastry that uses yellow custard as it's creamy center filling:)
The year we took these pictures, 2001, they were particularly rich in colour; vibrant, almost iridescent. The year 2002 they flowered a fair bit earlier but they were not of anywhere near the same intensity.
Tom Pouce in the foreground, 'Othello' in the back and you can just catch a glimpse of the Heliotrope below the 'Tom Pouce'.
