H. 'Crown Jewel'
There's a specialty nursery near where I used to work in North Vancouver. Last year -2007- I purchased my 'Monashee Blue Cup' there, but
I hadn't set foot in it since then.
Imagine my surprise and delight
when I swung by there on the way home April 20th that there was a Hosta sale on that day! I KNEW I had to stop by there and I also knew when I did, that I'd walk out with something new
to add to the collection. And this was it!
By the end of August it has filled out rather nicely and as you can see from the scapes
in this picture, it flowered as well this year.
For 2009 it has filled the container quite nicely and next spring it'll likely move to larger quarters, perhaps divide it and move the largest
division into the yard for use in a border.
