Casablanca

Casablanca

We have several Oriental Hybrids that are mostly white, but they all still show some degree of yellow in the throat . Casablanca is the first all white one we have, it has only a slight colour green to the nectaries.

Having said that, if you look at the original of this picture very closely, you'd be tempted to say there was the ever-so-faintest hint of pink.

Casablanca

This first year in 2003 brought us only two flowers, but what the bulb lacked in flower production it made up for in size of bloom, they were just magnificent!

While at the time of writing it's still too early to say how many blooms we'll have in 2004, suffice it to say that it appears as if the main bulb has great strength to it and also shows another 4 shoots of varying sizes poking there heads up. We certainly expect there to be many more flowers on a much taller stem this year for the main growth and look forward to digging up the bulb in the fall to split off the new growth.

The vigour this variety appears to be showing is rather similar to what we see out of 'Dame Blanche' and we more or less expect that we'll end up in time with as substantial a stand of 'Casablanca' as we now have with 'Dame Blanche'.
